Purpose

This course will be useful to students whom specifically work in the field of organisational development, as well as students in the field of human resource development and human resource management. Students credited with this course are able to competently apply the Appreciative Inquiry process as a constructive approach to organisational change and transformation efforts.
 

Target group

Students who completed the Advanced Programme in Organisational Development, OD consultants and practitioners, SASOL HR managers and HR managers
 


Admission requirements

Senior Certificate or an equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
 

Duration

Six months

1st semester: January and 2nd semester: June
 

Tuition method

UNISA open distance learning and two compulsory experiential workshops (three days and one day respectively); a study guide and tutorial letters guide the students through a prescribed book by way of self-tasks and self-assessment

Note:
Formative assessment and examination admission will comply with UNISA’s formative assessment rules and policies
Formative assessment:
A compulsory written assignment and attendance of workshop
Summative assessment:
Portfolio of evidence
Marks:
Students have to obtain a mark of 50% in order to successfully complete the course

  • Coaching clients in how/where to get started
  • Training internal facilitators in conducting interviews appreciatively, topic selection, protocol development, consensual validation and the design of socio-technical strategies
